today was just....bleh. the weather said it all. after putting j.s. bach's toccata and fugue in E minor for kenji on a cd (among other classical pieces including thekla badarzewska's only piece), and after reading through my mountainload of mail, kenji picked me up to go watch march of the penguins at west portal. the documentary, beautifully narrated by morgan freeman, was all right. 4 stars out of 5. i think i would've enjoyed it fine on the discovery channel in the comforts of my living room. not particularly cinema-worthy, but nevertheless, a fine film.

but the day started to REALLY go downhill when kenji and i found his car with a parking ticket b/c of streetcleaning. w.t.f. streetcleaning at 1pm???!!?!? and it's totally my fault b/c i didnt look PAST the tree to read the streetcleaning sign. (there was a sign behind the tree in front?! ) i cant believe i didnt notice the empty side of that street. i cant believe i failed to notice such details. i'm so fuckin blind. gawd damn. anyhow, ran into katharine on irving today, which was a surprise since i havent seen her in a few years. odd too because i live right by irving, the typical high school asian hangout. brought home a lychee milk tea boba for my sister b/c she's never had any form of milk tea in her boba drinks. oy, a day of paperwork awaits me tomorrow. not to mention managing my finances AGAIN. i hate growing up. i hate being responsible. i hate having irresponsible parents for whom i must take care of such financial crap. can i just ask, what kind of a declivity is my summer sliding down?
