July22,2005"tibet" music: frou frou - must be dreaming
mood:
once again, my mother killed my mood for the night.
but other than that, my day was pretty good! met up with michelle lew, diana, and tiffy at the asian art museum to see the tibet exhibit. it was like, my bijillionth time seeing it, but it's always nice to see it again. ;D jenny a. met us up in the museum and off we went to explore the gallery. diana and i jumped onto the bandwagon as we followed a tour in the osher gallery. i always figure that listening to a docent brings me more information and plus, i dont have to spend time reading the details. XD afterwards, we went looking for the naan 'n curry on o'farrell, but it turned out that it was closed down and in the process of moving?! luckily, we found a nifty little thai restaurant nearby and settled there for lunch. what's really great is that when we got our check, we had trouble reading it because the waiter had written it all in thai. omg, how amazing is that? the really silly thing is that after seeing tibetan script many times from the museum, i seriously would have trouble distinguishing it from thai. O_O wow, am i linguistically ignorant, lol. (does that even make sense?!?) anyhow, after jenny a. left, the four of us went exploring (well, not really exploring) downtown, looking for a 3.5x5.5 plain moleskine for tiffy. and jenny a. was right: PEARL art is the cheapest, haha. we seriously went all over, from paperwhirl on maidenlane (well, around there) to the crocker galleria to jeffrey's (cuz diana and co. wanted to get a murder mystery/dinner party set and omg, there was one with a roman theme! maximus testosterus! LOL!
) and finally PEARL. yup, spent the entire afternoon walking around in the bright sun. oy....but at least i got to work on time and even got off on time.
