"mak the yak"
music: Kelly Clarkson - Behind These Hazel Eyes
mood: spiffy smile

i bought my yak today from the asian art museum! look at my baby:

it's actually the yak from the baby clothing company, mak the yak. the tag on it was the same as the company logo. after picking up my yak, i went to the main library next door to just chillax and read. i love the main library. it's just soooooo nice. one can spend the day there, just buried in books or other archives. anyhow, after browsing the music sheet section and finding nothing worth borrowing, i headed up to the sixth floor to check out the featured historical exhibit. it was a focus on the persecution of homosexuals by the nazi regime before and during WWII. a lot of tidbits about Dr. Magnus Hirschfeld, the gay, jewish, professor who wrote a lot about sexuality and feminism, and founded the Institute for Sexual Science in Berlin. it was a very interesting exhibit, even though there were 30 panels to read, haha. took me a while to go through everything. smile anyhow, check out the sixth floor of the main library if you get the chance this summer. the historical floor is very interesting, with random nautical artifacts encased in antique wooden display shelves. very quaint.

some random chinese man interrupted my reading when he started chatting with me in mandarin and english. to be polite, i responded, but i'm pretty sure i made a clear indication that i wanted to be left alone to my reading. however, he insisted that i go help him with his new laptop, since he wasnt terribly fluent in english and some of the programs werent translated into chinese. so i helped him out as much as i could, and when it was clear that it was gonna take a while to answer all his questions, (and not to mention he reeked of cigarette smoke), i politely told him i had an appointment that i needed to go to. quickly scurried out of there, down to the first floor to the self-check out kiosk, and went downtown, where i found a very nice pair of brown pants at forever 21 and a nice pair of black pinstripe pants that i'll be getting tomorrow. it was a fantastic day to myself, and i actually got a lot of little things done. not to mention the fact that i spent a good deal of time in the sunshine.
