September07,2005"blessed, or just very lucky" music: nothing. silence is sweet.
mood: sleepy
oh wow. i must say that i'm truly blessed right now. either that, or i'm extremely lucky.
recap. Monday, first "official" hectic day of classes. it wasnt so bad because latin and marine bio (coastal marine life) were "intro" classes that day, but i just KNOW this semester is going to be insane. mondays and wednesdays, i have chinese and greek in the morning, then a 2.5 hour break, then latin and marine bio from 1-4. i'm not terribly worried about sitting through those classes because i actually REALLY like all the courses i'm taking, but i do need to develop a good study discipline. so far, i've just been running around to meetings/auditions and whatnot during my free hours. not much studying so far. d'oh! >.<
i've started to go to the gym! XD (even though it's just nightly cardio workouts on the bike and treadmill. but hey, it's a start!) whoops, fragment.
Tuesday. what a happy tuesday it was! had chinese and korean war seminar in the morning, and i can tell that i'm gonna love the seminar. military history is one of my weird interests in history, hehe. for some reason, i've always enjoyed learning about the politics of war...which is pretty much my professor's (who also happens to be my premajor academic advisor) specialty. talk about luck! ;D after a quick lunch from the Polar Express (the line at Moulton was too long), i went for my audition for the music scholarship thinger, the free private music lessons. and guess what? of the 3 spots for freshmen, i was selected for one of them! XD i'm sooooooo excited! omg, i cant believe i actually got it! so now i can continue to study the viola at bowdoin, with free private music lessons, AND i'm playing in a quintet that gives me half credit for the semester! this is just so friggin awesome!
afterwards, went to my interview with the supervisor of the hawthorne-longfellow library circulation desk and score! signed up for my shifts (neat 2 hour shifts thurs, fri, sat afternoon) and yey! now i have an on-campus job! the pay isnt as high as sf of course, but it's pretty damn good. i'm pretty psyched about this semester. went to the student activities fair at smith union tonight and checked my mail along the way. lo and behold, i got a letter! from joyce! XD on spottie dottie stationery...lol. oh man, snail mail me people! i love getting mail! especially letters.
anyhow, at the student activities fair, i think might have signed up for too many things, lol. more like i've already loaded myself with a ton of stuff (overload of classes, music, work-study), but cant help it if i'm ambitious! (or simply insane....) signed up for BQSA (GSA), Bowdoin College Democrats, Asian Student Association (ASA), Debate (which isnt CX, unfortunately, but Parli), some volunteers for lawyers thing, and i think something else, but i'm not quite sure....oh well, guess i'll be getting emails to find out! XD and plus, it's not like i've really committed to anything...other than the big 3 (academics, music, work-study).
the year is really starting! i'm totally psyched!
and googletalk is awesome. now i can "call" people for free over the internet! thanks evan! muah! now i can talk to you more often! ![]()
