"nintendo fusion tour"
music: Rick Springfield - Jesse's Girl
mood: all right smile

brace yourself for a long blog entry....and plenty of pictures ;D

friday was officially the start of fall break. a huge number of people went home, but lauren and i had other plans....our first real college roadtrip! XD well, sorta....it was a mixture of katie's and katye's (I LOVE YOU!) generosity and fung wah ;D so we left on friday with katie and stayed over at her house in sudbury, which is a little south of boston. drove through new hampshire to give diana a call, but wasnt close enough to say hello to her at dartmouth. (diana, thanksgiving, new york, LET'S GO!) anyhow, there were issues with our original plans but in the end, thanks to my 18-yr-oldness, credit card, and katie's help, lauren and i got all our stuff booked and ready to go! drove to tewksbury the next day (can you believe that such a town exists?!) to drop off our stuff at the motel 6...which seemed sketchy because i claimed i was the only adult staying overnight to save us $10, and we had to deal with a smoking double because there werent any non-smoking rooms left. then we headed off to lowell (the town, not my high school you west coast blank stares!) to the tsonga arena for the nintendo fusion tour! we hung around the town for a while and i must say, the town of lowell is very quaint. it definitely captures the charm of the classic new england town. after loitering in barnes & noble for an hour (we were hiding from the rain), we went off to meet motion city soundtrack! after meeting the band, we had to wait in line in the rain for 2 hours because our tickets and photo press passes were at will-call, omg. talk about shitty luck. the rain was NOT fun. new england rain is incredibly humid; thus, lauren and i have decided we're ready for the west coast weather again. O_O

anyhow, the concert rocked! our photo passes allowed us to take pix pretty much..AT THE STAGE. OMG. upfront LIKE NO OTHER! i was basically leaning on the stage taking pix the whole time. well, the pass allowed us for the first 3 songs of each band, but still! awesome spots! here are just some of the pix i took with lauren....

the rather charming bassist of Panic! at the Disco

the lead singer of Panic! at the Disco

Boys Night Out

the lead singer of Boys Night Out

the hot HOT guitarist of Boys Night Out

Motion City Soundtrack guitarist Joshua Cain!

lead singer Justin Pierre of Motion City Soundtrack!

last but not least, bassist Mark Hoppus of Motion City Soundtrack!

hot bassist of Starting Line! they weren't that great live though...

lead singer of Startling Line

and headlining the tour....FALL OUT BOY!

with hot HOT Pete Wentz! omg...

and last but not least at all....lauren and me happy at the concert.

the bands were amazing live, especially Panic! at the Disco. they definitely got me more interested in their music. ;D Fall Out Boy wasnt as great live, but omg, i was so close to touching Pete's new chuck taylors! O_O SO tempted....but i controlled myself. Starting Line wasnt THAT great, but they didnt totally suck....i'm just not that into them. Boys Night Out wasnt that bad either. BUT Motion City Soundtrack did and excellent job. i must say that that was a fucking awesome concert!

so afterwards, taxis werent running...they fucking hung up on us! but luckily, we met this sweet girl, katye, in the photo pit, who kindly gave us a lift back to our sketchy motel, lol. lauren and i had IHOP before crashing into our smoke-ridden beds. the next day, woke up late (i still dont know how we slept through BOTH of our alarms) but made it to the fung wah bus at south station! 4 hour ride to new york, but we got there safe and on time. watched another concert at the Continental featuring The Confessional, Roses are Red, Stutterfly, Bedlight for Blue Eyes, with Bleed the Dream headlining. dropped by CBGB and thank goodness for that because they're shutting down soon. ); it's so fucked up! how can you shut down the venue where the Ramones first played?! it should be a LANDMARK. ugh. even a trance addict like me, who doesnt listen to rock too much, knows that.

anyhow, we got back safely and chilled in boston's phat malls on monday before heading back to bowdoin early that afternoon. i must say that i miss the city more than ever now. and people are right: boston does remind me of san francisco.
