"cold day"
music: Ozma - Battlescars
mood: confused, lost

it was such a cold day. the temperature probably didnt rise above 15ºF. when i woke up, supposedly it was 0ºF. lord knows what the windchill could've been. probably sometime ludicrous like the -10ºF or lower. the wind was quite harsh too, my face definitely felt burns from the cold gusts. and my ears burned when i went inside because of the extremity of the temperature changes.

aside from the cold weather, my day went by fine. chinese test, greek was just review over the aorist passive, and latin, just more lines of lucretius translated. lunch with phuong and jenny, then work from noon to two. at work, shelving kept me busy for an hour. the elevator to hubbard stacks is still broken, so at least i dont have to shelve there. i hate the stacks. such a slasher movie setting about them.

after work, i rushed back to my room to pack up my gov and anthro stuff because i was supposed to meet with both of my professors. gov paper due next week, which is basically my midterm. anthropology midterm this tuesday, which i'm supposed to finish the study questions tonight as i had promised myself over the weekend, but am miserably failing. (whoops! ugly run-on!) anyhow, these past couple of nights, (meaning tonight and last night), i've been unable to accomplish much mainly because i prefer to sit and contemplate. what's frustrating about my classes is that it's sort of like senior year, where i didnt have a ton of work due in class, but rather, just some readings and a lot of independent study. languages are self-explanatory in that respect, but still. like chinese, i'm still behind schedule with the number of characters i want to master by the end of this year. i'm probably 100 characters behind or more. then there's greek and latin, both of which i must really review and spend more time on. but since the time is free for my management, i lack the consequential drive to take that extra step to study. so here i am, typing away on my blog, wasting yet another useful monday night. except tonight i also went to see "Mama's Gold," a chinese documentary about the orphans of Shangri-La in Li Jiang, Yun Nan Province. i was really touched by the movie, particularly because the little chinese children reminded me of my younger cousins when they were that little. i dont like kids, but those children were just precious. it's amazing how much films can change your views.

all right, back to my feeble attempt to be productive.
