"spring break"
music: The Fold - New City
mood: nervous and surreal?

greek quiz followed by a latin midterm tomorrow. totally freaked out about latin, but what can i do at this point? nothing. only reviewed 200/500 lines so far from lucretius, if i'm ambitious i'll go for another 100, but at this point, i highly doubt it.

it hasnt hit me that i'm going home for spring break tomorrow. i cant believe it. 2 months already. halfway through the second semester. maybe it's just that i'm getting used to the idea of floating around these next few years, flying back and forth without a place to really call home. i guess that's the whole point of these few years, because when else would i have the opportunity to float around and explore? it's just surreal to me that my first year of college is almost over, and life is just beginning again for me.

went to watch the laramie project yesterday on campus, and i must say, it was amazing. it was incredibly touching. it's always hard to believe that such hate exists in the world, but it's because we either choose to ignore it, or try to overlook it as an anomaly of our society. but hate doesnt exist in just a few of us, because like prejudice, it's everywhere. i just wish the rest of the world stopped turning their backs on each other and at least, acknowledge that hate exists in the world. it's inescapable, but we shouldnt be ignoring those who are hurt most by it. i really hope everyone gets the chance to see the play, because it does force you to reevaluate your world and your own approach to the hatred and violence around you.
