summer nights
music: Shakira ft Wyclef Jean - Hips Don't Lie
mood: happy
my summer has definitely started off perfect. much of friday was spent with the boys, ate lunch at toasties a.k.a. my new favorite sandwich place. after dinner, i met up with the boys again. i went downtown to shop a bit, and i realized how much i've missed being downtown at night. it's really the best feeling ever, when the crowd is smaller, but the stores are still open and lively with shorter lines at the cash register, hehe. i met up with wolf, evan, and brian at virgin records, and evan bought me dj tiesto's new ISOS5, which is actually a lot better than last year's. (thanks hun!) we ended up at wolf's house after a silly bus ride with drunk people through castro, and made a feeble attempt to watch LOTR1. yesterday, after yumcha with my parents at yet-wah on clement, evan came to pick me up and we watched Lord of War at his house. wolf and brian came over afterwards to play bball with evan, but brian had to cut the game short because he was feeling sick from all the disgusting fastfood he had earlier that day. ;P we then separated, evan and i went to dinner together at the korean bbq place next to tofu house (friggin tofu house was packed) and had some delicious korean chicken and beef and loads of kimchi. we ended up at wolf's house again and after brian messed up the Risk board, we played Settlers of Catan while watching movies. can i just say that it was really odd that wheat was the most desired and rare resource of that game? i actually ended up owning the ore mines and sheep but damn wolf. beat me with the dev cards ;P i cant believe we were playing such a dorky game too....
i'm most definitely excited about starting work tomorrow. i'm nervous about how it's going to go this summer, but i know it's a necessary skill that i need to gain, talking with the public and working with grassroots campaigns. it's something i've always wanted to do, so why not start with this summer? ;D

girly day
music: S Club 7 - Never Had a Dream Come True
mood: spiffy
so i had a fun-filled day. literally. coffeedate with meng at the canvas at 10 in the morning, which was fantastic because i got to catch up with her and her stories ;D then i met up with michelle for lunch at 1 at marnee thai on asian irving and had some delicious calamari. i saw evan before he had to go to work, and then met up with josie for badminton at the rec center where we actually met up just to chat and badminton was just a tradition. girls, i've missed you all A LOT. i can't wait til we all get together again in june, or ASAP when everyone else is back. meng, shelly, josie....you all made my day. ;D
evan, we've been spending too much time together. see you tomorrow!

home at last!
music: Lil Rob - Summer Nights
mood: happy
i'm home! ;D after a hectic week of finals and packing, and a long 6+ hours of flying, i made it back safe and sound! it feels amazing to be back, and i can't wait for an awesome summer ahead!
let me just say, last week was definitely an odd week of hell. i thought i was doomed, but i survived (barely). the plane ride was ridiculous. hilary, roxy, and i were able to switch our seats to the same row, and we ended up watching a lot of tv, including this ridiculous movie about volleyball on mtv. but they played "summer nights" by lil rob, so now it's back on my playlist! how appropriate...haha. anyhow, the plane ride was ridiculous because this sketchy random man sitting in the same row with rhysly was snoring obnoxiously for the entire flight. and to top it off, he had a cat with him that kept meowing randomly. he was so incredibly loud that we heard him through our max. volume headphones. it was fantastic to finally get off the damn plane, and to be greeted by a clear night for once! no rain! ;D when i arrived home, evan and wolf were already there, and i felt very loved to be greeted at such a late hour.
today, evan and wolf picked me up, and we went to serramonte where wolf bought his tv stand and i stocked up on shampoo and whatnot. i also bought love actually and the breakfast club, adding two fantastic movies to my little dvd collection. the best part though, was running into patti there with mike! too bad the UC's, except for cal, don't get out til the middle of june. and whitney wont be back til the end of june because of summer session ;( but until then, bunches of time will be spent with friends who are already back, and of course, the boyfriend.
long summer days...and endless summer nights ahead!

finals
music: Mariah Carey & 98 Degrees ft. Joe - Thank God I Found You
mood: stressed
reading period is too short. these past few days have thrown me off so badly that i forgot it was saturday and missed the ASA bbq which i had been looking forward to this weekend. so much for that. at least i had one last nice brunch with dan cooperman. my day was just as unproductive as friday, even though i accomplished more on friday because of the gov review session. :sigh: i hate those unproductive days. the rainy weather doesnt help either.
these past few nights, i've been working the closing shift at the library, getting off work at 2AM. it's not that bad, just draining when i realize that i'm sleeping later than i expected. at least it's easy money and i was inside from the crazy rain. friday night was a terrible night of rain, yet my buddy and co-worker, ben, was kind enough to drop by the library from supersnacks to bring my supervisor and me some coffee and cookies as per my request. ;D today [saturday] gretel, chris (lewlew), savannah, jenny, christine, sammi, ikumi, and i went into town for dinner at Pedro O'Hara's. it's this quirky restaurant and bar, fusing mexican and irish cuisine. the setting reminded me of buca's back home in sf. anyhow, food was good, then ian drove jenny and i to his apartment to drop off some of our stuff for storage in his cellar, and we went to target to buy rubbermaid bins for more storage. i can't remember what i did last reading period, but i certainly don't remember being this...active. oy, so much work left to do. it's catching up....i'm feeling the stress. and it hurts my head.
one more week until i'm done for the year.
one more week until i see evan again.
one more week until i see home.

spring gala
mood: scatterbrained. leave me alone.
the spring gala was really nice! yes it looked like prom, but no it didnt feel like one. ;D the chocolated dipped strawberries were delicious, and the cover band was great. the pictures are up on facebook if you have one, and comments are always welcome.
two more days of class! then finals start on monday. i feel so scatterbrained right now because i have yet to pack, i need to organize all my papers and handouts, i'm not 100% sure what i'm bringing back, and i'm not sure how to go about studying for my finals. :sigh: but this weekend, i will clean, do laundry, and pack up...except i still need another rubbermaid bin to store things besides clothes. thank goodness ian offered to store my crap along with jenny's. otherwise, it wouldve been near impossible.
ah! summer vacation is less than 2 weeks away!!

ivies weekend
music: Usher - U Make Me Wanna
mood:
so ivies weekend was absolutely fantastic. beautiful weather, pretty good music, and cote's finally opened so there was good ice cream too. ;D the sad part was that i was sober up until saturday. i didnt have a drop of alcohol because i was working at the library and i knew i shouldnt go to work drunk 2 nights in a row. so instead, on saturday, AFTER work, i met up with my buddies, helped christine finish off the last of her tanqueray gin (cuz her parents were coming up the next day) before heading off to pinestock. pinestock, which is bowdoin's mini version of woodstock at pine street apartments, was quite fun. ben said that you had to be drunk to have fun but i ran into sober people who had fun because the music was good and the crowd was hilarious. that's how good it was. then again, i was just drunk-happy, so i guess anything couldve been awesome, heh. according to jeff, i was the one that walked the straightest, but at some point during the night, someone poked me and i tipped over
apparently jenny and christine were making zigzags, haha. on our way back to campus, i had the brilliant idea to walk through the graveyard but jenny or someone yelled at me, warning me that they might puke on a tombstone and then we'd all be damned to hell for sure. so i wandered back onto the street with dan no and the girls and i ended up at the pub dancing to random hiphop, reggaton, etc. but when the DJ started playing NeYo's "So Sick," jenny and i got confused. as much as i love that song, when you get me in a mood to dance, dont slow it down! however, that song triggered my weekend series of r&b revival, so hence the usher and other random middle school music on my last.fm playlist.
oh man, we need to have more weekends like that. perhaps at the gala this weekend? cocktail dresses and cocktails ^.<
on an ugly note, the construction workers fenced off a side of coleman (my dorm) without warning last thursday morning. all of us, and i mean the student body, are pissed because it means an extra 50 feet or whatever that distance is around the building to get to the library. i'm basically cut off from the quad now. what motherfuckers. pissed me off so much that i was planning on cutting the fence down but i'm going to be civil and just tell them to fuck off.
what an end to my school year. at least i have summer to look forward to, and did i mention michelle and i got a mayflower apartment triple with marcus? next year will be better! it better be.
